National Clinical Impact Awards (NCIA) - 2026 awards round
The NCIA are prestigious five-year financial awards for NHS consultants and academic GPs in England and Wales who demonstrate exceptional, national-level contributions above their standard roles.
Managed by the Advisory Committee on Clinical Impact Awards (ACCIA), the scheme aims to improve patient care and retention by rewarding innovation.
The 2026 NCIA application round is now open and closes at 5pm on Wednesday 20 May 2026.
To help applicants prepare, the ACCIA has published timelines and updated guidance on its gov.uk page.
The ACCIA only accepts applications through its online portal.

NCIA applications no longer include rankings and citations from national nominating organisations such as the BCS.
