UK cardiology specialist resident doctors are invited to take advantage of an exciting opportunity within the British Cardiovascular Society (BCS).
The BCS sub-editor programme sits within the Education remit and resident doctors can play an important role by contributing to the online educational content of the BCS website.
This established programme can complement your ongoing training by
- improving your writing skills
- help you learn about different cardiology topics
- increase your exposure to leading UK cardiologists
- possibly win one of three prizes awarded at the BCS Annual Conference.
As a sub-editor on the programme, you’ll be required to submit 2 editorials per year on a wide range of topics. In addition, sub-editors can record a short accompanying video to be featured on the BCS Digital Knowledge Hub.
There are also opportunities to input ideas and augment the current educational content on the BCS website, ensuring it is relevant to resident doctors and consultants, and assist with educational activities related to the BCS Annual Conference.
The role can be done remotely without any travel required and is designed to sit alongside your current position.
Successful applicants will be asked to work together, with the support of the editors Dr Peysh Patel and Dr Kayla Chiew (BCS Education Committee members), for a minimum tenure of one year. This will be a valuable addition to your CV and educational portfolio.
