As part of our commitment to supporting doctors throughout their careers, we have introduced this new membership offer to better recognise the important contribution Specialty and Specialist (SAS) doctors make to the healthcare profession.
BCS Membership – a place for all cardiovascular professionals
Following our 2025 membership survey, we acknowledged the concerns from SAS doctors who felt they weren’t represented by the current BCS membership structure. This feedback led us to create the new offer within our Ordinary membership to ensure SAS doctors feel supported and have a place within our community.
It represents an important step in ensuring SAS doctors have a stronger voice, greater visibility and better support within the cardiovascular community.
It’s important to us that the BCS membership structure is as inclusive and accessible as possible. SAS Doctor Ordinary Membership offers all the same great benefits as Ordinary Membership for only £220 per year – a 40% saving of £145.
This membership category is only for Specialty and Specialist Doctors currently working in cardiology across the UK.
This is just the beginning
Launching the new SAS Doctor Ordinary Membership is the first step in a broader commitment to better supporting SAS doctors within the BCS.
Over the coming months we’ll be reaching out to SAS doctors for their thoughts on how to develop our membership offer to better suit their needs.
We’ll be contacting all current SAS doctor members over the coming weeks to advise them of their move to the new category with further details on how this will work and what they need to do next.
