Coronary artery disease (CAD) is the leading cause of mortality among aortic stenosis (AS) patient populations due to common pathogenetic factors such as ageing, atherosclerotic plaques, multi-morbid risks including diabetes, hypertension and dyslipidaemia, or procedural related coronary access obstruction, with the revolution of transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI). (1) The prevalence of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) post TAVI aortic stenotic individuals has become an increasing trend, but its evidence remains debated. (15)
I am currently working as cardiology specialist registrar ST6 at southwest peninsula region while also working as an honorary academic tutor for peninsula medical school (Faculty of Health). I humbly got an opportunity to work as an BCS sub-editor role (2024-2025) and still an active investigator for multi-national research projects particularly based on areas of structural heart valves, interventional cardiology and electrophysiology. Outside of work, I am a global advocate for healthcare leadership, and actively leading non-profit organisations and national social campaigns alongside possessing a lovely family work-life balance.
