Professor Adrian Brady

It is with a heavy heart that we advise you of the recent passing of our dear colleague and friend, Professor Adrian Brady.

Professor Brady was a valued member of the British Cardiovascular Society (BCS) and served on the BCS Clinical Guidelines Committee as past Chair, as well as his recent post on BCS Council. He leaves behind an undeniable legacy as strong clinical leader and excellent academic communicator, among the many other accolades of a long career. Professor Brady was also President of BIHS (2015-17), and was serving as President of the Scottish Cardiac Society at the time of his passing.

BCS President, Professor Andre Ng said: “I was fortunate to have coincided with Adrian in the early stages of my career, as I recall meeting him as a newly appointed Consultant when I was research trainee in Glasgow. I remember fondly his personal approach – always pleased to help and mentor junior colleagues with clear, thoughtful advice. He will be missed by many.”

On behalf of the BCS, we extend our condolences to his family and friends, as well as to the many professional colleagues who knew and had the pleasure of working with him.
