A must-attend for cardiology consultants and resident doctors.

Women in Cardiology (WiC)

The BCS is committed to increasing the number of women training in cardiology and to support women cardiologists already working within the specialty.

We want to champion changes, address gender inequality in working practice, and create a community of female cardiology resident doctors and consultants across the UK.

WiC leads on this work, providing articles and insights to help women in the profession, sharing personal accounts from cardiologists working flexibly and holding events to help women network, learn and share support.

Digital Knowledge Hub (DKH)

The DKH is a one-stop location for the cardiology community to access bite-sized, reliable, high-quality educational content that supports training, clinical care, education and personal and professional development.

The content also features recorded sessions from our 2025 Annual Conference as well as recordings from our webinar series.

All content is free to access but some requires users to register and sign in to view.

Guidelines, policy and advocacy work

As the professional body for UK cardiovascular medicine, the BCS produces clinical standards and statements on aspects of care, often in partnership with one or more affiliated society.

We also endorse the guidelines produced by the ESC.

Our Clinical Standards Committee leads on this work and also advises on regulatory matters affecting cardiovascular healthcare in the UK, supporting members’ professional clinical practice.

BCS Strategy 2025-27

We launched our new Strategy earlier this year and at the heart of it is a clear and ambitious vision: to improve cardiovascular health and care through leadership, education and clinical excellence.
