The British Cardiovascular Society (BCS) has decided to step away from X. As a membership organisation, the BCS exists to support the cardiovascular community through high-quality education, professional standards, and constructive clinical dialogue. How and where those conversations take place matters.
There has been a notable decline in engagement on X over time, and – more importantly – a change in the quality and tone of conversations on X, which have increasingly moved away from the thoughtful, professional exchange that our members value.
The BCS has therefore decided to step back from posting on X, and focus our efforts on channels where professional discussion, learning, and member engagement are strongest.
This decision reflects a practical assessment of where our members are and how they prefer to engage, rather than a withdrawal from digital communication. We will continue to review our approach to all platforms to ensure BCS remains accessible, relevant, and aligned with its values.
We will continue to communicate actively with our community on LinkedIn, BlueSky, Instagram, and Facebook, as well as through our newsletters – both for members, and for non-members.
We encourage you to connect with us on our other channels, for any further updates and to stay informed about BCS education, events, and professional activity.
