Heart is an international peer reviewed journal that keeps cardiologists up to date with important research advances in cardiovascular disease. It is also the vehicle for important BCS and BJCA statements such as those on workforce, professional behaviours and inequalities in health. 

New scientific developments are highlighted in editorials and put in context with concise review articles. There is one free Editor’s Choice article in each issue, with open access options available to authors for all articles. Education in Heart articles provide a comprehensive, continuously updated, cardiology curriculum.

Open Heart

Open Heart, the companion free access publication to Heart, is dedicated to publishing high quality, peer reviewed medical research in all disciplines and therapeutic areas of cardiovascular medicine. Research is published across all study phases and designs, from protocols to phase I trials to meta-analyses, including small or specialist studies. Opinionated discussions on controversial topics are welcomed.
