Meet some of our Inaugural Fellows

Prof Adrian Banning
I am pleased and honoured to become a fellow of the BCS. As medicine has fragmented into slightly isolated specialist groupings, recognition of my efforts to improve cardiac care by the broader cardiovascular community is very welcome.
Dr Resham Baruah
To have my work acknowledged by the leading national organisation within our field of expertise is both extremely humbling and gratifying and it fuels my continued desire to serve the Society, our amazing speciality and our patients to the best of my abilities.

Dr Sarah Birkhoelzer
Becoming a FBCS Fellow is a real honour and reflects a shared commitment to advancing cardiovascular care through clinical excellence, research, education, and collaboration.

Dr Petra Jenkins
I am very honoured and humbled to be one of the BCS Inaugural Fellows. I look forward to working with the BCS and the wider cardiovascular community in raising the profile of congenital heart disease medicine and the role of women in cardiology as leaders in their field.

Dr Jo Lim
I look forward to being part of this growing community at BCS. It is wonderful to see outstanding colleagues from across the country recognised, many of whom have been hugely influential in my own career, and who all work tirelessly to improve the lives of patients and colleagues.

Dr Benoy Shah
After twenty years in clinical cardiology, I am honoured to become a Fellow of the BCS and look forward to continuing to work with the Society for many years to come.

Dr Robin Vanlingen
Britain plays an extremely important role in international health delivery and research, and aligning our professional credentials with American and European institutions is an excellent idea, and long overdue.

Dr David Wald
Recognising members who have contributed to the field rewards everyone. It rewards the individual and the Society by strengthening engagement between cardiologists and the most important professional society a British Cardiologist can join.

Dr Fraser Witherow
Being a Fellow is recognition of a career in cardiology where I have strived to help patients to the best of my ability.
