Introducing the British Cardiovascular Society Fellowship (FBCS) — a new mark of distinction recognising outstanding contribution, leadership, and commitment within the field of cardiology.
FBCS is awarded through an application process and is open to Ordinary, Emeritus and International BCS members.
FBCS celebrates clinical excellence, research, education, and service to the cardiology community.
Application windows for FBCS will open twice a year around the Spring and Autumn.
Applications are now open until Day Date Month 2025.

FAQs
How do I apply for BCS Fellowship?
To apply to become a BCS Fellow, please use our online form. Applications can only be made via our online form – paper submissions will not be accepted.
To ensure a smooth process and enable us to review your application promptly, please review the documentation required and ensure all specified documents are uploaded with your application.
Make sure that all documentation submitted is in English or has been translated into English.
Applications must be made before the closing deadline to be considered.
What is the application criteria?
BCS Fellowship is open to current Ordinary, Emeritus and International BCS members who:
- Have been a continuous BCS member for at least the previous five years prior to the BCS Fellowship application being made (Ordinary and Emeritus members)
- Have been qualified for at least five years (International members)
What happens once I've applied?
Once we’ve received your application, an executive panel will review your application form against the criteria.
You will be informed of the outcome via email (?) within four weeks of the application closing deadline.
How do I make payment?
The annual BCS Fellowship fee is £145 and is in addition to your annual BCS membership fee.
We will only request payment of the BCS Fellowship fee if you application is approved.
If your application is approved, we will email the request for payment:
- Payments should be made by card, in GBP only, through the link in the email
- FBCS benefits will only begin after your payment has been received
- We expect FBCS members to make payment within two weeks of their application being approved, if payment is not received, we reserve the right to cancel your FBCS application
Subsequently, the annual BCS Fellowship fee will be added to your primary annual membership fee and collected in full during the next membership renewal cycle.
