To register for your ESC ID please click hereThe European Exam in Core Cardiology (EECC) is administered by the European Society of Cardiology, in conjunction with the UEMS Cardiology Section and the national cardiac societies. Since 2018, the exam sat by UK trainees contains 6 UK-specific questions relating to UK guidance and legislation.Passing the EECC is a curriculum requirement for CCT in the UK.Registration is managed by the British Cardiovascular Society. The exam is open only to cardiology trainees in recognised training programmes who will be in their third or later year of specialty training at the point they sit the exam. The current fee for taking the exam is published on the BCS website when registration opens.Trainees who do not achieve the required standard will be able to progress without affecting decisions about allocation to advanced modules, providing the other elements of their performance are judged satisfactory at the ARCP. They can then resit the exam in the following year.Once registration is closed the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) will provide access to preparatory modules for the exam via the ESC e-learning platform to everyone registered for the EECC. To do this, we need to supply your contact details to the ESC. You will be asked for consent to your data being shared as part of the registration process.The European Exam in General Cardiology (EEGC) was rebranded to European Exam in Core Cardiology (EECC) in June 2021.Candidates will receive a registration confirmation by e-mail from ESC – we recommend you check your spam folder. In the event of illness please inform the BCS and your training programme director (TPD) as soon as possible. After the exam, you will be asked to fill in an online feedback form.
