Associated Societies

We collaborate with:

British Undergraduate Cardiovascular Association (BUCA): Supporting students interested in cardiovascular medicine.

The Society for Cardiothoracic Surgery (SCTS): Advocating for patients and professionals in cardiac, thoracic, and congenital surgery.

Royal College of Physicians

As one of the larger medical specialties, the BCS President has a seat on the Council of the Royal College of Physicians, representing cardiology and contributing to debate and policy decisions affecting physicians in England and Wales. In addition, BCS officers have regular meetings with the RCP president and officers, and are regularly consulted on policy matters.

Principal Partners

Our industry collaborations drive innovation in cardiology through cutting-edge research, advanced treatments, and impactful education. These partnerships support our annual conference and strengthen the cardiovascular community.

CaReMe

CaReMe unites BCS with the Renal Association and the Association of British Clinical Diabetologists, alongside primary care societies, to advance care for patients with diabetes, cardiovascular, and renal conditions.

British Heart Foundation

The BCS has a longstanding relationship with the British Heart Foundation, which plays a large part in the annual BCS conference. The BCS president regularly meets the Foundation’s Medical Director to discuss areas of mutual interest. The BCS also hosts the BHF Clinical Research Collaborative, which aims to support the planning and delivery of clinical research in heart and circulatory disease by providing the infrastructure to facilitate, enhance and coordinate the research activity of existing cardiovascular and surgical societies.
